Sydney
Sydney, a remarkable 9-year-old girl, faced an unexpected turn of events in January 2024. After a visit to the ER revealed a large brain mass, she was airlifted to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami. An MRI confirmed it was Medulloblastoma, a cancerous brain tumor.
Sydney courageously underwent complex brain surgery the next day, beginning a long journey of recovery.
Sydney is known for her kind spirit, infectious humor, and unforgettable personality. A girly girl, she loves shopping, art, animals, soccer, volleyball, skin care, and the magic of Disney World.
Meeting Sydney is something you won’t forget—her spirit leaves a lasting impression on your heart.
Since her diagnosis, Sydney has undergone intensive treatments, including 30 rounds of sedated radiation, chemotherapy, specialized therapies, and out-of-state surgery for facial paralysis. Her treatment plan requires ongoing testing and therapy to help her regain strength. Although this journey has kept her away from school and activities she loves, Sydney’s courage and determination continue to inspire everyone around her, including her doctors, nurses, and medical staff, who have come to adore her. Sydney’s fight is a shining example of resilience. She dreams of reclaiming her childhood and the activities she loves.
We’ve been blessed by the incredible support of Team Sydney—our family, friends, and community who continue to be there for us at every step. Your kindness has made a world of difference, and we feel so fortunate to have such amazing support around us.
Through this journey, we were introduced to Lori at Chasin A Dream Foundation, who immediately took the time to understand our family’s needs. Lori worked quickly to arrange private travel with Goose Flights to ensure Sydney could get to Boston safely for critical surgery.
We are beyond grateful that our paths crossed with Chasin A Dream Foundation. Thank you for your unwavering support and kindness.
